Educators implement effective planning, instruction, assessment and reporting practices to create respectful, inclusive environments for student learning and development.

Before my first practicum, my ideas of differentiation were rooted in theory, however the act of differentiating in my real classroom changed my perspective fundamentally. I previously thought that differentiation was about large scale changes that took massive amounts of planning. In my practicum, I realized that differentiation can be as simple as putting closed captions on videos that you are showing the class. Aside from adding captions, I found that I differentiated by allowing students to do the work in whatever way made sense to them to complete my learning intentions.
