Educators value the involvement and support of parents, guardians, families and communities in schools.
I made an effort to connect to the families and communities in the schools I was in, especially in my second practicum. I volunteered at a night for the community, welcoming siblings, parents, guardians, and potential new students into the school.
I also volunteered at cap and gown handout for the graduating students, yearbook handout, and attended the graduation ceremony. I connected with students and the people in their lives outside of the classroom.
